INDUSTRY NEWS FUEL REPORT Gasoline Prices Continue to Fall The national average price of gasoline fell to $3.25 per gallon — its lowest level since midDecember last year and nearly 25 cents per gallon cheaper. Missouri is currently the only state with an average under $3 per gallon; however, there are fve other states with an average below $3.10 including Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Louisiana. Last year, 7 percent of all sites were above $4 per gallon while currently only 0.3 percent are above the high-dollar mark. Experts continued to predict that more stations will fall below $3 in the upcoming weeks, as prices keep lowering on softer demand and robust supply. Diesel prices are down slightly, but are still hovering around $3.85 per gallon nationally. Experts cautioned that with heating oil season just getting underway, diesel prices could remain high, especially if the Northeast falls into an early deep freeze.
