INDUSTRY NEWS PHH Arval Appoints SVP for U.S. Sales Ruppert to Head Ford's Commercial Truck Division Ford Motor Co. has tapped John Ruppert, its top feet executive, to head up its commercial truck division. In a related move, Ford appointed Fritz Ahadi as its new general manager of commercial and government RUPPERT AHADI operations to replace Ruppert. As the top feet executive, Ruppert oversaw three regional sales managers, as well as Tony Gratson, Ford's national government sales manager. Ahadi has served as the marketing director of Ford Export & Growth, which provides marketing support for global vehicle sales. Ahadi led the team that provided marketing services supporting Ford's business throughout the Middle East, parts of Africa, Asia, Puerto Rico and Central America. Nissan Names New Fleet Sales Director Nissan recently appointed Matt Burhart as director of light commercial vehicles sales and marketing, which encompasses the company's feet car and truck sales. Burhart was formerly a director over Nissan sales operations. Burhart succeeds Mike Hobson, who transferred to the new role of director of market intelligence for Nissan, as of Dec. 1, 2013. BURHART HOBSON In related news, Jose Munoz took over Nissan's North America division, while Fred Diaz, the former CEO of Chrysler's Ram Truck Unit, was appointed Nissan U.S.A.'s senior vice president of sales and marketing for parts and service. Ford Edge Concept Goes Autonomous Ford Motor Company unveiled its Edge Concept mid-size SUV during the recent L.A. Auto Show. Te new concept vehicle will feature a Ford EcoBoost engine and stop-start technology, which will become standard in all Ford high-volume vehicles, according to Joe Hinrichs, Ford's executive vice president and president of the Americas. Te Edge will be equipped with several advanced automated driving technologies, including self-parking and obstacle avoidance technologies. According to Hinrichs, the self-parking option is expected to allow a driver to park the vehicle either seated inside or outside the cabin. Te Edge will also feature collision alert, adaptive steering, and adaptive cruise control. PHOTO: FORD The Ford Edge Concept was unveiled at the L.A. Auto Show in late November. The vehicle will feature numerous autonomous driver technologies. PHH Arval recently promoted Michael Quimby to senior vice president of U.S. sales to oversee an enhanced sales team, the feet management company. With the move, Quimby QUIMBY joins the PHH Arval North America senior leadership team. Since 2012, Quimby has held the position of vice president of sales for PHH FirstFleet, a division of PHH Arval dedicated to feets of light, medium and heavy trucks and equipment. Prior to joining PHH, Quimby served as the vice president of sales and marketing for Ryder System, Inc. In his career, he has held various executive leadership and sales roles including corporate ofcer at GE Commercial Finance, GE Capital Fleet Services, and Ryder. Former Fleet Execs Named Automotive All Stars Two former feet executives with Chrysler and Ford were named as 2013 All-Stars by Automotive News, the publication recently announced. Tis year's version of the DOUGHERTY annual list included 26 automotive industry executives including Chrysler's Patrick Dougherty in the "service and parts" category and Ford's John Felice in the "remarketing" category. Dougherty is the vice FELICE president of Mopar sales, feld operations and product development. He was formerly Chrysler's director of feet commercial and rental sales. Felice is Ford's vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service. He was formerly director of Ford's North American Fleet, Lease and Remarketing Operations (NAFLRO).
