Get the latest f eet news at www.automotivef Bpost Inks Deal with Chevin Fleet Solutions Bpost, the Belgian post service, has signed a deal with Chevin Fleet Solutions to implement a new f eet management sof ware solution. T e company's FleetWave will be used to manage the postal service's 17,000 cars, vans, trucks, motorbikes, and bicycles. Bpost operates the larg- est f eet in Belgium. Bpost chose FleetWave following a pan-European tender, with the prod- uct winning thanks to its functional- ity and reporting capabilities, accord- ing to Chevin. Read more at www. automotive-f Union Leasing Acquires Express 4x4 Rental Fleet management company Union Leasing has acquired Express 4x4 Truck and its f eet of pickup trucks. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, which was f rst announced in December. Express 4x4 Truck provides outsourcing management and transportation to compa- nies requiring full-size trucks to transport people, equipment, and gear to worksites in remote areas. Express maintains a f eet of ¾-ton full-size diesel 4x4 pickups such as the Ram 2500, Ford F-250, and Chevrolet Silverado 2500. T e trucks are used for construc- tion, infrastructure, turbine, and security projects that last from six to 15 months. Union Leasing plans to tap its working capital to accelerate Express 4x4 Truck's growth, according to a company announcement. See more at www.automotive-f eet. com/UnionLeasing4X4 Fiat Acquires Rest of Chrysler From UAW Trust Fiat North America has bought out the UAW trust's stake in the Chrysler Group. T e Ital- ian automaker acquired a 58.5-percent share of the U.S. automaker in 2009 during the Chrysler bankruptcy. Under terms of the $4.35-billion deal, Chrysler and Fiat North America will use cash on hand to buy the 41.5-percent stake from a United Auto Workers (UAW) retiree healthcare trust. Fiat North America will pay the UAW- controlled VEBA Trust $1.75 billion in cash when the deal closes, while Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Chrysler will contribute $1.9 billion through a special dividend. Addition- ally, Chrysler will contribute $700 million in four future payments to the trust. PHOTO: GUUZJO AT NL.WIKIPEDIA Ford Motor Co.'s MY-2015 F-150 pickup truck will arrive as the f rst widely produced U.S. vehicle with a high-strength aluminum body, the automaker announced this past January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The change will reduce the truck's curb weight by about 15 percent, or 700 pounds, which will enable the new F-150 to increase its fuel-economy rating, possibly reaching close to 30 mpg highway. This rating will also be aided by the inclusion of the V-6 EcoBoost engine with stop-start technology.
